Coon Really???

,

Today the word “COON” for the young African American (blacks) have became popular. Yes such a derogatory word like this has. Some are replacing the word nigger and using the harsher word. The word coon is used as an action, or a noun. Such as two people can be talking and joking around and one of them says “shut up you coon,” instead of saying “man shut” or “shut up my nigga”. Either way it is wrong. Even saying “that is just plain coonery.”

Taking this word and using it as a new term is ridiculous. I admit that that I have used it until I further my knowledge on the word. Especially when an older woman overheard some children say the word and had a talk. She explained that her brother killed a white man for calling him a coon. And her brother was then hung. I find that the word is not a joke, it is not funny. Neither is using the word nigga but it is used sadly to say by our black youth today. This is keeping us in the “white man’s” stereotype.

For those who don’t know Coon is a Derogatory term for black people. Similar to "nigger." Originally a shortened form of the word "raccoon," used in reference to the animal. The black eye masks and nocturnal habits of the animal paralleled the characteristics of typical robbers and thieves. The stereotype was then applied to black people, back in the late 18oo’s early 19oo’s. Your tongue is a sword so be careful how you use it.

So i'm guessing your against the word coonery? when you yourself use it...for example, i show the text evidence; "IF SOMETHING BOTHERS ME SUCH AS COONERY, CD, R&B/RAP ARTIST IM GOING TO BLOG ABOUT IT." taken from your blog post "Who is Kristina?".. somewhat contradictory my dear? explain yourself? did you overnight have a change of heart?

well Mr. Arnold if you would be so kindly RE-read what i wrote...i know you wont so here is a quote from the above blog "I admit that that I have used it until I further my knowledge on the word."
Yes i admit that i have said it and used it in many cases. However i know longer use the word. I see where it can be a contradictory because it was last used in one of my blog.
Would it be best for me to delete that word from my PAST blog?

Further knowledge of the word?.. at the college level... blindly using words to fit in isn't a good look.. Is it a Public School FAIL.. or a common sense one? No don't delete the history of your ignorance. And as for the being hanged for killing someone who called you a coon..you are what you answer to.

Alot of people can have book snese but no common sense and the other way around. However i have both but may lack it in certain situation but but for the most part i have both.
Anyway I knew what the word ment just like i know what the word Nigga means. Public School Fail no sir i finished at a public school but attended private almost half my life. As for common sense fail probably yes i can admit my mistakes as well look back on my ignorance and see where i change or need to change. However i didn't know how STRONG the word coon was. As for the man who got hung, how about the other hundreds/thousands of slaves who got hung from killing a white man for him calling him a nigga or coon.
And it WOULD be a contradiction if i continue to use the word..which i dnt anymore. But you opinion is truly appreciated.
